Exercise 002:
How does this work?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZwtVz7z0wM
This exercise is about strengthening your connection to you higher self, God, consciousness; whatever your definition is for all that is throughout your day. The idea here is to start acting as if the higher self is sitting there with you all day. What do I mean by that? Start with asking questions and looking for signs in your interactions. I use this exercise on a daily basis and can tell you that it really starts to put things into perspective. Your beliefs will expand little by little every time you use this exercise. We are providing “proof” to the logical mind.
What kind of questions should I be asking? Ask whatever you want however, the easiest one to start off with is “where did I put….?” I can’t tell you how many times I’ve used this to locate stuff around the house.
How do I do it? Think about it like placing an order. When you place an order you give the waiter your order and then wait for the food to come out. You never question if it is being cooked you automatically assume that since you gave the waiter your order, they have taken it to the cook to prepare it.
This is exactly how you need to treat this exercise. It can take some practice but keep at it. The idea is that you ask yourself with the intention of having the higher self answer for you, “Where did I put my keys?” and then forget about it. Within a second you should feel an urge to head in a certain direction. If you do not feel that urge, just start looking again only this time, do not try and think where it could be. Instead just look in an area with the intention “I have no clue if what I am looking for is over here but I am going to check anyway.” If you get a thought like “It couldn’t be here” or “I know I was standing over here with them earlier.” This is thinking and not what we are trying to do. This would be the same as telling the waiter what we wanted and then telling him not to worry about cooking it; you are doing to do it. If we truly want help we must ask for it and then trust that it will be answered. When we continue to think about it we are not letting go.
Side note… When I say “with the intention of …” what I mean is why you are doing something. For instance if I ate a piece of food the intention may be, because I was hungry or it could have been because it looked delicious. The reason we ate the food is the Intention. So when I say “ask a question with the intention of the higher self responding”, all I am saying is that when you ask the question you are expecting the higher self to respond. You are not just talking to yourself, although you technically are.

Practice this as much as you possibly can. Each time you do it you are strengthening your belief while reducing your doubt.
Examples:
Example 1: Today Jessica and I were in the car getting ready to leave the house when I had the thought “Go grab the Sprint flyer that came in the mail for the free car charger”.
Side note… I am very grateful for the free car charger, thank you!
grin emoticon
Immediately I ran back upstairs and went to the first place I thought it was. It was not there so I started checking the entire room. When I couldn’t find it in the room, I went to the living room followed by the kitchen. I could not find it anywhere. I then asked with the intention of being answered by the higher self “Where did I put the Sprint flyer that I am looking for?” I then let it go and started walking back to the room where I originally thought I put it. I was standing right in front of where I started but was a little confused because it was not there. I started moving stuff on the desk and accidentally knocked a receipt behind the desk. I almost left it but for some reason I reached back to grab it. When I pulled it out, the receipt had landed right on top of the flyer. Flyer found!
Example 2: Later that day Jessica and I decided to go to Kohl’s to look for some clothes. We had just left a camera store where I was looking at a macro lens for the new camera. While we were at Kohl’s I was trying to figure out if I was supposed to get this lens or not. Jessica had mentioned that I originally wanted a different lens that was about $100 more but it would be more in line with what I was looking for. I was having difficulties because knowing that we create every single thing around us, this meant that I created the situation where the camera store did not have the lens I was looking for. Not only that, I was presented with another lens that was cheaper and would possibly work. The logical mind kicked in and said you might be better off spending the extra $100 and get the other lens. At this point I could feel emotions starting to get triggered which was affecting my thinking so I gave in. I asked “I ask for a sign, please tell me if purchasing this cheaper lens would be beneficial for me.”
Note… beneficial not better. Better would be a form of judgement and doesn’t work too well when asking the unbiased higher self. Structure your questions in a non judgmental way.
Immediately I looked straight up and seen the picture that is attached to this post above. The first thing that caught my attention was “Yes2You”. I could not stop laughing. I’ve seen some pretty blatant signs in the past but this one had me going. It was quite literally a sign and it said “Yes2You”.
Example 3: That evening we were at the house and I was looking for a vaporizer. I checked every single room except the bathroom. I even went to walk into the bathroom and Mr. Logical mind said “Why in the heck would I put that thing in the bathroom?” I went back into the office and with the intention asked “Where is the vaporizer?” Immediately I started walking down the hall way and into the bathroom. This time I was thinking “lol, why am I walking to the bathroom I know it’s not in there.” Sure enough as soon as I walked in there I noticed it sitting on the counter dissembled. I had forgotten that I was cleaning it earlier in the day and had left it there. Immediately I started to laugh so hard.
I will tell you, this never gets old and it is always fun to catch these things. They are great ways to remind us throughout the day that there is much more going on than we know and maybe we should take life less seriously. If you wake up every day and seeing and treat life as a game, it becomes fun. The more fun that you have, the more fun that you create. It is an ongoing cycle of give and receive. Just remember you have to give to receive.
